Miss Caroline's Music Class
Through a variety of class themes, students get the opportunity to:
- Sing their favorite songs while playing percussion, string, and wind instruments, including drums and tone bells, quarter-size violins, ukuleles, and recorders.
- Learn about musical notes and symbols, as well as how to incorporate them while performing songs.
Classes take place at Kumara every Thursday at 12:30 & 1:00.
The fee is $90 per student for each 8-class billing session. (Parents receive a bill every 8 classes, or 8 weeks, and pre-pay for the up coming session).
Parents are always welcome to come and visit a class.
Caroline Harrison has taught music classes to preschoolers since 1994. She has reached hundreds of children over the years at more than a dozen locations including Kumara Preschool, Mill Valley Montessori, Ross Academy Montessori, and local Music Time Schools, which is where her teacher training began in 1992. Since Caroline is now a full time UC Berkeley student, she has several apprentices whom she has trained to teach the classes while she still runs the other aspects of the business.
In This Fun And Energetic Class Preschoolers Will:
- Learn about music through songs, stories, and movement
- Gain knowledge and appreciation of a variety of musical instruments
- Learn to read simple musical notation.
- Gain a great sense of accomplishment and greater self-esteem
For more than a decade hundreds of preschool students around the Bay Area have greatly benefited from Carolines weekly class. With plenty of instruments, a puppet or book, and stamps & stickers in hand, Miss Carolines Music Class teachers travel to several preschools per week enriching childrens lives with the joy of music!
